AfriPRO Houston History

When Folake K. Ayoola, Esq. founded the African Professionals Network (AfriPRO Houston) in 2005, she was unaware that the initiative would have such a positive impact and evolve as greatly as it has today. She initially hoped to provide a forum for Africans to meet each other in settings outside of the traditional places like school and work. However, the initiative was one that ended up resonating with highly talented, dynamic and socially responsible African professionals in the Houston area and beyond. Since 2005, AfriPRO Houston has grown significantly and has reached hundreds of people with its activities and programs.

AfriPRO, on the global level, has been organizing business & social networking events in cities across the USA, Europe, and Africa since 2002. Visit the AfriPRO Global website for more information. www.afripro.com

AfriPRO Houston is governed by established Bylaws. The Board of Directors, currently chaired by Folake K. Ayoola, sets the overall vision for the organization, while the day-to-day operations are performed by the members of the Executive Committee, under the direction of Abby Kotun, the current President.
